The Sacraments of Initiation—Reconciliation, Confirmation, and the Eucharist—are for children who have been baptized in the Catholic Church and who have reached the age of reason, understood by the Church to be around seven years old (CCC 1307; 1457). This age is a threshold, not a deadline. Children are welcome to begin sacramental preparation any time after they have reached this stage of maturity.

Our parish program is designed for families ready to make a real commitment to faith formation. Children attend Holy Mass first, followed by a one-hour class, reflecting the Church’s teaching that the Eucharist is the “source and summit of the Christian life” (CCC 1324). Participants are expected to be capable of both regular Mass attendance and engaged participation in class, where they are invited not only to learn about Jesus, but to follow Him.

In keeping with diocesan direction, our program also places strong emphasis on the faith formation of parents, who are the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith (CCC 2223). Scripture reminds us: “Teach them diligently to your children” (Deuteronomy 6:7). Our goal is to support families in growing together as disciples of Jesus Christ, rooted in Scripture, nourished by the sacraments, and living their faith at home and in the world (Matthew 28:19).

Sacrament of Marriage

The Sacrament of Marriage is a sacred

covenant in which a man and a woman freely

give themselves to one another in love, mirroring

Christ’s faithful love for His Church. Scripture

reminds us, “What God has joined together, let no one

separate” (Mark 10:9), and teaches that marriage is a vocation rooted in God’s design for lifelong, faithful, and fruitful love (Ephesians 5:25–32).

Couples who are discerning marriage and ready to begin their life together are warmly invited to contact the parish and meet with the parish priest. The Church provides a marriage preparation program designed to support couples in prayerfully preparing for this lifelong commitment. Preparation is not simply a requirement, but a gift—an opportunity to deepen communication, strengthen faith, and build a foundation centered on Christ (CCC 1601–1605).

The Church desires to walk alongside couples with care, encouragement, and hope, helping them grow in love and unity as they prepare to say “yes” before God and the community. “Love is patient and kind… it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:4–7). Our prayer is that every couple may enter marriage rooted in Christ, strengthened by grace, and ready to live out their vocation as witnesses of God’s love in the world.

Sacrament of Baptism

                                 The Sacrament of Baptism

                                  is the beginning of the

Christian life, through which             we are freed from sin, reborn as children of God, and incorporated into the Body of Christ, the Church. Jesus Himself commands, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them…” (Matthew 28:19), and Scripture teaches that through baptism we are buried with Christ and raised to new life in Him (Romans 6:3–4). Parents who wish to have their child baptized are encouraged to contact the parish and meet with the parish priest, who will walk with them through the preparation process. Because baptism is not only a celebration, but a commitment to raise a child in the faith, the Church joyfully supports parents in their role as the first teachers of their child’s relationship with Jesus (CCC 2223). Our desire is to welcome families with love, prayer, and encouragement as they take this first and beautiful step in a life of discipleship.
