Music is an important and essential element of the liturgy (Psalm 98:1). But, the music minister is not a performer, they are a servant who prayerfully encourages the people through song. 

 

St. Augustine wrote that one who sings prays twice. 

 

Music ministers have a love of music, a desire to worship Our Lord in song and are gifted by the Holy Spirit with their ability.
