Children’s Liturgy of the Word exists to help children grow in love for the Holy Mass by encountering God’s Word in a way they can understand and receive. Jesus Himself said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them” (Mark 10:14), reminding us that children belong at the heart of the Church’s worship. During Children’s Liturgy, children hear the Gospel proclaimed in language suited to their age, in a setting where they are free to respond as children—with curiosity, wonder, questions, and joy. This ministry helps form their hearts so that, over time, they may come to listen attentively, love the Scriptures, and participate more fully in the Mass with understanding and reverence (Luke 24:32).

This ministry depends on faithful volunteers who love the Word of God and desire to help children grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Serving in Children’s Liturgy is a beautiful way to share the Gospel and to help lay a foundation of faith that will shape a child’s life. “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17). By nurturing a love for both Scripture and the Mass, we help raise up children who know Jesus, recognize His voice, and desire to follow Him. We are always grateful for those who feel called to serve in this ministry and warmly welcome new volunteers to join us in this important work.
